LAST SNOW PHOTOS FOR A LONG TIME, I HOPE!

I am sharing five photos for the memes mentioned below with my favorite backyard birds  These were taken a month ago during the first real heavy, and hopefully last, snowfall.  This week it is in the 70's. I have been looking forward to the warmer weather more this year than any other, and went out for the first time yesterday in short sleeves.

1) Black-capped Chickadee (1)

2) Black-capped Chickadee (2)

3) Male Northern Cardinal

4) Blue Jay

5) Grey-slated Junco

I am sharing with the following memes as they become available, with my thanks to all our hosts for bringing them to us.  If you click on their names you can visit other participants.

  9. Those are the birds I see most often in my backyard in the winter too. They definitely cheer up the seemingly unending winter with their sweet calls and pretty colors.

  10. Beautiful shots all. I especially love the cardinal. I find getting decent shots of them in the wild to be difficult.

  12. No more snow here either, we hope until net season, Denise. We also had unseasonably warm temps this week and it was in the mid-70s on Wed. You got some good bird close-ups, which is something we can't do living in a 5th floor apt unlike when I used to photograph from my kitchen window in VA.

  20. I love pictures of birds in the snow but so happy that as we move into spring I can get pictures of birds among the trees and on flower branches. Spring is my favorite time of year.

  30. Great bird photos. I love seeing the Cardinals & really wish we had them here in Tasmania. I just adore their beautiful crimson colour. I always fuss around too much & often the birds fly away while I'm waiting to click the shutter for the perfect shot then I miss out all together.

  34. Pretty!

I rarely get the Blue Jay. And the juncos don't seem to hang out here (although they get the leftovers that fall from the suet feeder in West Virginia.)

  38. Denise - a wonderful collection here.
We've had a few spring-like days in the UK, so lovely.
Hope your snow does disappear soon and you have a lovely Spring.
